Lucky 13 Application FAQ
Are there any specific guidelines for the content of my tweets?
No. You get to decide the best 13 ways to introduce yourself to us.
Will there be any specific questions that I'll be answering with my tweets? What about a daily topic to tweet on?
Nope. We are leaving this entirely up to you!
What about the Lucky 13 Causes? I’m definitely expected to mention those, right?
Not at all! The causes are inspiration for the taking, but it’s completely up to you.
Okay, I do want to tweet about a cause. Can I only mention one cause? Can I only use one tweet?
You can mention as many of the causes in any number, or none, of your tweets. Just remember, the tweets should tell us about YOU.
Will tweets submitted outside of Feb 13 – Feb 25 be considered?
No; the application process is during these 13 days only.
Can I submit more than 13 Tweets?
You can, but we will stop reading at the 13th tweet marked with our required two hashtags: #L13 and the secondary discipline hashtag (#CMap, #CMcpm, etc.) ;)
How will I know if I’m registered? Will I be sent confirmation?
Yes, you should receive an email after you register, confirming we received it.
Can I apply to be considered in more than one discipline area?
No. You must choose ONE discipline area.
I want to learn more about the internship. Where can I find out some specifics?
Here, at the ‘About’ section of the website.
Do I have to be a U.S. citizen to be eligible?
No, but you must be legally eligible to work in the US.
I am a sophomore. Do I really have to wait until next year to apply?
Yes, but way to be ahead of the curve! We look forward to hearing from you next year.
I already graduated from college, but now I am in a portfolio school. Can I still apply?
Yes, absolutely!
I graduated earlier than Fall 2011, can I apply?
Although you are outside of the requirements for Lucky 13, the good news is you can apply for full-time opportunities. You can find these at www.cmithun.com under the contact tab.
I am studying abroad this semester, can I still apply?
Absolutely! As long as you can tweet, you can apply.
Do I need a portfolio to apply?
Not necessarily, but if you’re applying for a creative position, it would be helpful to have some way to showcase your creative abilities.
When the time comes, will I be expected to vote for a particular cause? Will how I vote affect my application?
No, and absolutely not. You’re of course welcome to participate in voting, but it isn’t required. You may want to vote for a cause you like, though—you could end up working with them, after all!
Do I need to turn off my privacy settings on Twitter for Campbell Mithun to follow my tweets?
Yes, otherwise we won’t be able to see your tweets or follow you!
Is the internship during the summer only? Are there other internships outside of summer?
At this time, our internship program is limited to 10 weeks in the summer.
At which locations do you offer internships?
Our agency is in Minneapolis. Our internship opportunities are in…wait for it…Minneapolis.
If @The_Lucky_13 responds to one of my tweets and I’d like to reply, does that reply tweet count as one of my 13 Tweets?
No. If @The_Lucky_13 engages you in conversation and you’d like to reply, mark your reply tweet with ONLY the #L13 hashtag – do not include the secondary hashtag (#CMam, #CMcr8, etc.) and we’ll know the tweet is part of a conversation, not your official application.
I have a question not covered here.
